School Funded Counselling

For schools looking to directly hire and fully fund counselling services.

Supporting wellbeing across the whole school

Some schools prefer to commission counselling directly, providing fully funded sessions to students as part of their pastoral or mental health strategy.

What we offer :

We provide in-school counselling for children and young people, delivered by a qualified experienced school counsellor.

Sessions take place in a private, designated space during the school day.

Why is counselling in schools beneficial?

  • It negates the need for a child to be absent from school in order to attend an appointment.
  • Parents do not have to take time out of work to transport child to and from regular appointments.
  • It is a familiar and safe space for the child, which may alleviate some of the nerves of attending a therapy appointment.
  • It cuts down on vast waiting lists, enabling children to be seen much sooner than CAMHS waiting times for instance.
  • The therapist can work alongside your current pastoral team, complementing your current pastoral service.

How it works:

1. Initial conversation

I meet with you to understand your school's needs, priorities, and available resources.

2. Proposal

A service plan is tailored to your school; including session frequency, referral pathways and safeguarding protocols.

3. Referral Process

Your pastoral, SEN or safeguarding teams identify students who may benefit from support.  A simple internal referral        form is used to initiate sessions, with parental consent obtained before counselling begins.

4. On-site delivery

Sessions are held in a private, designated space within the school, on regular scheduled days.

5. Ongoing review

We offer regular reviews, staff liaison, and progress updates (within confidentiality boundaries) to ensure the service continues to meet the school's needs.

Why schools choose this model:

  • Full control over referral process and priorities
  • Supports whole-school wellbeing strategy
  • Responsive to pupils' needs without delays
  • Helps meet Ofsted or Inspection expectations around mental health provision
  • Strengthens family-school-community relationships
